If you’re looking to reuse page designs across your site then duplicating a page in Elementor can be a huge time-saver. Elementor offers multiple ways to duplicate pages, both with a plugin and without plugins. In this guide, I’ll show you how to Duplicate page in Elementor in both ways! 🚀

Duplicating a page has several advantages. We can save a lot of time by reusing existing layouts. Easily keep design elements consistent across multiple pages. We can make quick changes without starting from scratch. This is especially helpful if we want to maintain consistent formatting across our site or if we’re managing a multi-page project.

If you prefer to avoid extra plugins, Elementor’s Save as Template feature is a straightforward solution. This method lets you duplicate any page by saving it as a template and then inserting it on a new page.

Step 1: Open the Page in Elementor

  • Go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to Pages > All Pages. Find the page you want to duplicate. Hover over the title of that page, and click > Edit with Elementor.

  • Once the page is open in Elementor, look at the top besides publish / Update. It might also be at the bottom for some users. Click on the Arrow icon besides it and select > Save as Template from the dropdown menu.

  • A box will appear, asking you to name your template. Enter name for easy reference later (example, “About Us Template” or “Duplicate page“). Click > Save to add the template to your Elementor Library.

Step 2: Create a New Page to Insert the Template

  • Go back to the your dashboard and navigate to Pages > Add New. Once the page is opened, select > Edit with Elementor:

  • In the Elementor editor, click on the > Folder icon to open your template library.

  • Switch to the > My Templates tab, where you’ll find the template you saved. Hover over your template and click > Insert. This will create a copy of the page based on the original.

  • Elementor will load the template onto your new page, creating an identical copy of the original. Now you can do a few more things. Go to your dashboard > Pages > All Pages. Your duplicated page will have a name like “Elementor #####”. Click on > Quick Edit.

  • Change the Title and the slug as appropriate for the “duplicate” page. Now your “new” page can be added to your menu’s once published.

Using a plugin for duplicating pages can also be a great choice especially if you duplicate pages regularly.

The Duplicate Page plugin is a popular choice that integrates seamlessly with WordPress. There are several popular plugins for duplicating pages, posts, and custom content types in WordPress, each offering unique features for enhanced flexibility like Yoast Duplicate Post, Duplicate Page and Post Plugin, WP Duplicate Page etc.

We are going to use the Duplicate Page plugin for this guide.

  • From your wordpress dashboard go to Plugins > Add New Plugin.

  • Search for Duplicate Page Plugin in the search bar, then click Install Now.

  • After the installation completes, click Activate to enable the plugin on your site.

  • (Optional) Once the plugin is activated, go to Settings > Duplicate Page. Here, you can configure basic settings for duplication, such as choosing “Duplicate Post Status” whether the duplicated page is saved as a Draft, Published, Pending, or Private. Add a suffix like “-Copy” to easily differentiate duplicated pages from the original. Once you are done click on > Save Changes.

  • from your dashboard go to Pages > All Pages. Locate the page you want to duplicate. Hover over the page title, and click on > Duplicate This.

  • The plugin will create a new copy of the page based on the original. Click Edit with Elementor under the duplicated page’s title to open it in the Elementor editor and make any changes. Publish when done.

Duplicating pages can be quick and convenient, but here are a few tips to make the process even smoother.

  • For easier management, rename your duplicated pages to reflect their purpose. This keeps your Pages list organized.
  • Also for commonly used layouts, save them in Elementor’s My Templates section. This will save you time if you frequently use similar layouts on new pages.
  • Most importantly, if you’re duplicating a page with live content, make sure to modify text and SEO settings to avoid duplicate content penalties from search engines. Adjust the title, meta description, and on-page content to be unique.

Duplicating a page in Elementor is easy and flexible, whether you use Elementor’s Save as Template feature or a plugin like Duplicate Page. These methods allow you to quickly create new pages that match your existing layouts, saving time and ensuring consistency across your website.
